Showcasing Newark’s Historic Robert Treat Hotel
As a New York–based interior design photographer, I recently had the opportunity to photograph the Robert Treat Hotel in Newark, New Jersey, for the Berger Organization. This iconic Newark hotel is a historic landmark, and my focus was to highlight both its classic architecture and modern updates through professional interior photography.

Capturing the Elegance of the Hotel’s Restaurant
One of the highlights of this project was photographing the hotel’s elegant restaurant. With contemporary lighting, crisp white table settings, and a refined seating arrangement, the space exudes sophistication. By using careful composition and perspective, I was able to showcase the symmetry, depth, and ambiance that make this Newark dining destination stand out. As an architectural photographer, I always look to capture not only the design but also the atmosphere that invites guests to enjoy the space.

Modern Comfort in Guest Rooms
The guest rooms at the Robert Treat Hotel were equally rewarding to photograph. Featuring modern furnishings, sleek lines, and abundant natural light, the rooms embody both comfort and style. My approach as an interior photographer was to emphasize the balance between functionality and design—showing how thoughtful details like lighting, textiles, and views of downtown Newark create an elevated guest experience.

Luxury and Sophistication in the Suites
The hotel’s suites, with their spacious living and dining areas, offered the perfect opportunity to capture luxury and sophistication. The interplay of textures, polished surfaces, and statement lighting fixtures created visual interest, while details like floral arrangements and artwork provided a personal, welcoming touch.

The Value of Interior Photography for Hotels
For the Berger Organization, high-quality interior photography plays a vital role in marketing the Robert Treat Hotel. These images are designed to not only showcase the beauty of the spaces but also to communicate the inviting character of this Newark landmark. As a New York interior design photographer, my goal is always to create photographs that inspire, inform, and elevate a brand’s story.
